Healthcare IT Engineering for the UAE
Serving health systems, digital health companies, and enterprises across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates — from NABIDH FHIR integration to enterprise AI automation.
How I Work With UAE Clients
I work remotely with UAE-based clients with full overlap into UAE business hours (Gulf Standard Time, UTC+4). For larger engagements, I travel to Dubai or Abu Dhabi for project kickoffs, critical design sessions, and stakeholder workshops. UAE client engagements are structured as monthly retainers or fixed-scope project contracts, with deliverables defined in statements of work suitable for DHA and DOH documentation requirements. Invoicing is available in AED or USD. For government and semi-government UAE clients with formal procurement requirements, I work through UAE-registered partner entities as the prime contractor.
Market Context
UAE's Digital Health Transformation
The UAE has positioned itself as the most ambitious digital health market in the Middle East, with Vision 2031 healthcare targets driving rapid investment in health information exchange, AI clinical tools, and patient-facing digital services. Dubai's NABIDH (Network and Analysis Backbone for Integrated Dubai Health) HIE is mandatory for all DHA-licensed healthcare facilities, requiring FHIR R4-compliant data submission for patient encounters, clinical documents, medication records, and discharge summaries. Abu Dhabi's Malaffi HIE connects 200+ healthcare facilities across the emirate, while the Federal MOH's national digital health strategy ties together the broader UAE health data ecosystem. For technology companies and healthcare organisations, this creates a complex multi-platform environment: facilities operating across emirates must integrate with both NABIDH and Malaffi, each with distinct FHIR profiles, submission requirements, and regulatory oversight. UAE's National AI Strategy 2031 adds another dimension — the UAE government has committed AED 13+ billion to AI transformation, creating significant demand for production AI engineering capability in healthcare, financial services, and government sectors. I work with UAE health systems, digital health companies, and enterprises to navigate this complex landscape, building technology that meets DHA and DOH compliance requirements while delivering the performance and reliability that UAE organisations expect.
